The power of THOUGHT
Part I: Creating a distance between ME and my THOUGHTS
If we want to grow as a person and grow in spirit and soul, we must learn to become conscious observers of our own mind, of the thoughts we´re thinking; there is just now way around it.
"Puh!" you might be saying, "but this is WORK to do!" - Yes, indeed, it is work to do! Since decades, your mind has been following a certain thought-pattern you might have been taught by your parents, your culture and later on by yourself; and your mind´s task is: to keep you alive....so whatever thought-pattern you´ve been developing throughout your life and you survived with it so far, your mind will do everything to "keep you on this same track" of thoughts. Everything “new” (e.g. more positive thoughts, new encounters, new work challenges, etc.) will first scare your mind enormously, because it doesn´t know if you will “survive” with this new approach. And whenever you´re in “automatic” modus, acting being INCONCIOUS of what you´re thinking, your mind will always go back to the “well known” thought-patterns.
The sad truth is: it´s easier to stay in automatic "modus", letting our mind take control about how you experience your daily day - but you´re sacrificing your own well-being for it. Imagine you would train your mind with new, positive, empowering, up-lifting thoughts so long, until these thoughts became the main thought pattern in your life? Until they become the "automatic modus" in your mind. Can you imagine the deep changes that will occur in how you´re experiencing life?!! Incredible!
The reward for bringing CONSCIOUSNESS to your own thoughts and start choosing them wisely is immeasurable! I myself, I experienced years in my life where I was in such deep emotional pain - because I was thinking tons of negative thoughts - that I was saying to myself: “If life is like this, so hard, so painful...I don´t want to live it.” It was then by asking that I could receive the answers I so hardly was longing for, bit by bit. Out of my own experience I assure you: in the moment you honestly ask for an inner change, life will bring you all kind of helpers - people, friends, coaches, experiences, certain circumstances, books, the so called “coincidences”, etc. – who will help you and guide you to find the answers you need in that exact moment you´re in.
The most important thing is to start, at some point, to just do it, to no longer postpone it....for the sake of your personal growth and wellbeing.
So the starting point is bringing awareness into your own mind by CREATING A DISTANCE BETWEEN YOU AS A THINKER AND THE THOUGHTS YOU ARE THINKING.
If your general emotional state is a negative one, it is because of your thoughts and the way you think about a certain situation that makes you not feeling well. The greatest teacher of the art of "living the present moment", ECKHART TOLLE, is saying this over and over again in his books:
IT IS NEVER THE SITUATION THAT MAKES YOU FEEL THAT WAY; BUT IT´S ALWAYS BY THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT THIS SITUATION THAT MAKES YOU FEEL THAT WAY.
So here we are, that we can see: There is the THINKER (you) and the SITUATION (outer circunstances) and in between is only this: YOUR THOUGHTS about the situation. Can you see the distance between you and your thoughts and the situation? Can you see now with clarity that it is by your own thoughts, that you´re creating your own reality?
This is a powerful truth, that needs time to be digested; so for today it is enough to digest.
